Day One

Here is my task-
Today is the first day of my life. That is a known. How I choose to live it and spend each moment of today is a choice. This blog, I am hoping, will help me live more mindfully-simple as that. When I write things down, I tend to follow what I write. When I make predictions about my life, they tend to happen. What is that-this setting of intention? My hopes, my achievements I want to put in this blog-to mark a trail in a new course I seek starting today.
My first task-to make this day a day of relaxation and beauty. There will be chores to do, a meeting to hold, and a son to say goodbye to. All I want to do with grace and calmness. There will be food choices and drink choices, and as I know, I don't always make the best choices in those areas, so again, by marking an intention here, I hope to guide myself through a day of healthy choices.
My goal in keeping this blog is to set a course, as if I am taking off in a sailboat. I don't know about the condition of the "seas" today, but I can keep track of my own mind and plot the best course I can. This blog is like my co-pilot-I can check in , write, jot notes and perhaps share other comments with anyone who finds it and feels the same need to keep trying, effort by effort and yoga pose by pose to stay on a healthy path-mentally, physically and spiritually.
Today's goals:
In my continuing quest to declutter my life- clearing up the yard, setting plants in the ground. And making the kitchen as clutter free and spacious as I can.
Food choices--I want to eat mindfully, slowly and savor everything! No grabbing handfuls of anything without thinking of what i"m putting into my body-that goes for drink as well. I have a big social day ahead, and I want to pause and observe before I eat, drink or gobble-in both senses of the word!
I'll post tomorrow how it went!
A yogi in training-Jan
